Privacy Policy

Jimnet Racing is the controller of personal data used by the Jimnet Pitboard app, website and connected Pitboard hardware. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, password hash, account role and account status.
- Race and team information: team relationships and permissions, event registrations, driver surname, race number, Pitboard messages and display preferences.
- Hardware and connectivity information: Pitboard identifiers and serial number, modem IMEI, SIM ICCID, firmware and hardware versions, network provider, connection times, device settings and technical status.
- Security and service records: session identifiers, login dates, IP addresses, failed-login records, commands, settings changes and limited diagnostic logs.
Passwords and device secrets are stored in protected or encrypted form. The app does not use advertising trackers and Jimnet does not sell personal data.
How and why we use information
We use this information to create and secure accounts; deliver messages and race data to the correct Pitboard; operate team sharing, race registration and settings backup; manage connected hardware and mobile connectivity; provide support; prevent misuse; and maintain the reliability of the service.
Our legal bases are performance of the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting Pitboard, consent where specifically requested, and compliance with legal obligations.
Sharing
We share only what is necessary with service providers that help us operate hosting, email and cellular connectivity, and with Apple when distributing the iOS app. Team information is shared with people you invite or teams you join. Embedded third-party timing websites operate under their own privacy policies; Pitboard does not receive the credentials you enter directly into those sites.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and service data while your account is active and for only as long afterwards as needed for security, support, legal obligations and dispute resolution. Operational backups and security logs are removed on their normal retention cycles. When you delete your account, its personal data, sessions, team links, race registrations, messages and saved settings are deleted. Physical hardware and SIM inventory may be retained without your account association so equipment can be supported or reassigned.
You can initiate permanent deletion inside the app under Settings → Account, password & Pitboard settings → Delete account. See the account deletion guide.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, export, restrict or erase your personal data, or object to particular uses. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your local data-protection authority.
